Master Calendar
Create a master calendar for all company resource calendars allows for global management of scheduling time.
Epicor’s production calendar functionality allows maintenance and downtime windows to be applied to individual resources, which greatly enhances the scheduling capabilities of the system.
A drawback to configuring Epicor ERP this way is the need to copy across the standard non-working days to each individual calendar.
The GHA Master Calendar functionality alleviates this problem by designating one of the production calendars as the master for companywide non-working days.
When a non-working exception is created on the Master Calendar, a checkbox has been added to indicate if this is to be copied to all child calendars.
On the resource, a new calendar is created automatically, with the same ID as the resource, this is then updated with the global non-working days from the Master Calendar.
This allows the company to update one calendar for global standard non-working days, such as shutdowns, bank holidays etc, while also keeping the individual resource calendar functionality for scheduled maintenance etc.
